Zipeg is a freeware using which, you can instantly and simply compress and decompress files, folders, and entire folder trees to save storage space. It supports a variety of archive formats like zip, rar, rpm etc. It also allows you to explore CD, DVD, image files, ‘.iso’ files.
The application allows you to view the files in the archive before you extract the files.
You can open a single file from the archive by using the preview option provided by the tool. For example, you can look through the photo archive, view the thumbnails, select and extract only the files you need. You can also preview the photos or picture files, and open them using an external application, without having to extract the entire file.
It provides a very user-friendly interface which provides features like, extracting a file by simply dragging them, control over the destination of the extracted files, opening of nested archives and other similar features. It has no limitations like the archive size, thus enabling you to create an archive of large data.
Zipeg sorts the contents of the folders by names, size or date as preferred by the user, thus making it easy to browse and view the contents.
Updating the application is totally simplified as it automatically checks for the latest updates, and it also provides a simple installation process. However, if you are an experienced user, you can check for updates and install them on your system.
The application runs on both Windows and Machintosh, and it provides full Mac OSX and Windows XP/Vista support. The application provides your content security by providing the password protection feature. You can view the contents only if you provide the correct password before extraction. |
